Choosing between Free and Premium is not about finding one universally better plan. The useful choice depends on how you use LynoTV: one device or several screens, one playlist or more, a need to restore your setup elsewhere, or a preference for an ad-free experience.
LynoTV is a media player for M3U playlists and Xtream Codes access you are entitled to use. It provides no channels, playlists, audiovisual content or IPTV subscription. Plans concern player features, not programme access.
A simple scenario: one device and local organisation
Free suits straightforward local use. Install LynoTV on an Android device, add the information you are entitled to access, and organise profiles, favourites and settings on that device. It is a direct approach for a living-room television that does not need to restore the same setup elsewhere.
In this mode, information remains local by default. This can be preferable when you want an autonomous installation with minimal setup. Free may show an advert only after a film or episode has finished naturally on a compatible device; it is neither an advert during playback nor supplied content.
A multi-screen scenario: restore your space
Premium becomes relevant when the organisation needs to follow you. It includes multiple playlists, use on authorised devices and optional encrypted Cloud synchronisation. Synchronisation requires consent; it is not enabled merely because an account exists.
Its purpose is to restore the information needed for your experience, such as profiles, preferences and sources, on the relevant devices. It does not copy catalogues, artwork, TV guides or videos. If you regularly move between television, phone and tablet, this can prevent rebuilding the same setup repeatedly.
Ad-free comfort, in context
Premium also offers a LynoTV experience without advertising. That can matter for frequent use, but it should not be the only criterion. First decide whether you need multiple playlists and multiple devices; then treat comfort as an additional benefit.

Ask how many devices you use, whether you need to separate playlists and whether settings must be restored. One device and a simple structure point naturally to Free.
